The Board of Education is pleased to announce its intent to appoint Ms. Stacy Ward as Superintendent of Schools at our regular Board of Education meeting on April 11. Ms. Ward has the experience and skills to successfully lead the district through the next years.
She is currently the Executive Director of Professional Learning and Student Services overseeing all instructional programming at ONC BOCES. Before coming to BOCES, she spent eight years as the elementary principal at East Hill School in the Canajoharie CSD. Ms. Ward also has experience as a staff developer, data analyst, elementary teacher, and museum education administrator.
Ms. Ward states, "I am honored to have been selected to serve as the next Roxbury Central School Superintendent. Everyone I met in the interview process spoke with dedication about Roxbury Central School, the community, and the school's traditions. I am excited to work together to continue RCS's tradition of excellence." She further states that she and her husband, Michael McCarthy, look forward to joining the Roxbury community.
We are looking forward to working with Ms. Ward as our newest leader as we work together to continue to provide the best opportunities for our students. The board thanks the interview committees and those who participated in the community forums for their participation, input, and commitment to the selection process. We are also grateful for the leadership that Dr. Huber, from ONC BOCES, provided throughout the process.
There will be a reception to greet Stacy beginning at 6:30 on April 11. Please stop by to say hello.
