On September 2, the Roxbury school district officially welcomed back faculty and staff for the upcoming school year, led by Board of Education President Ed Fersch and Superintendent Dr. Stacy Ward.
Some of the highlights of the morning were:
- Recognition of Steve Williamson, retired Town of Roxbury Constable, who was recognized and thanked for his unwavering dedication to student safety.
- An anonymous donation of $25,000 was given to begin the Grow Roxbury Fund which will help expand opportunities to our students.
- Milestone awards for 25 years of dedicated service to the Roxbury Central School district were handed out. Congratulations to Cherylann Hadden, Liz Cowan, Wendy Greene, Barbara Spanhake, Sherry Finch, Kevin Johnson, Cyndi Lawrence, Stephanie Shapiro, and Lisa Hubbard (not pictured).
- Welcoming new faculty and staff members: Will Cipolla - LTA; Paul Varano - Art; Erika Molnar - Special Education; Rachel Brandow - School Nurse; and Timothy Joedicke - PreK-12 Principal. Not pictured are Maggie Stroh - Instrumental Music, and Breanna Hewett - Bus monitor.
